We have known for a while that Emily Dickinson the goat is pregnant. We've just been waiting for the day! We knew she was getting close because she "bagged up", or you could tell her milk was coming in getting ready for birth!
Today we came home from church to a wonderful surprise! It was baby goat time!!
We could tell because she was whining, was walking really stiff-like, and we could see she was contracting pretty good. We went inside for a quick lunch and when we came back outside it was FOR SURE go time!
We were all so so excited!! I felt kind of funny because I was running around the house frantically grabbing my camera, looking for gloves and an old towel- just in case! But Emily didn't need any help at all, she did an amazing job!

I've heard it is rare for goats to only have one baby. But, Emily just had the one. We all agree that she is the cutest goat any of us have ever seen and we all feel like she's pretty special! We're all in love with her! No name yet, but probably soon.
We decided to wait until tomorrow to let any of us touch her, so we can't wait for that. All of us wanted to touch her cute floppy ears so bad!
