His lungs are no longer collapsed!
This morning, he went to x-ray in a wheelchair instead of taking the whole bed. He also was able to go without his oxygen, which is a huge improvement! After x-rays, he and I went on a walk around the floor- again, without oxygen! When we got back to the room, Jaron had some breakfast.
He has also been able to get up and go to the bathroom!
We went on another walk this morning, and the PT found us out in the hall and joined us. He was so impressed that Jaron was already out and walking {he's pretty speedy too!}
The PT had Jaron try to go up some stairs, which he did successfully. He then had Jaron get in and out of a bed that is flat. {The way it is at home, not angled the way his bed has been} Jaron was able to successfully do that as well, so he was able to be done with physical therapy!
Not long after, the respiratory therapist also said that since he was up and walking so well, that that would be much better for helping his lungs expand rather than breathing through a device in bed.
So we got that checked off the list as well!
This morning the epidural came out.
This was kind of a down swing because he was in a lot of pain after it came out. But I think we're getting on the right track to keeping his pain under control with his oral meds.

Dr. Patel said we could leave as early as tomorrow if Jaron had a BM.... since he hasn't been able to since the surgery. He could tell from Jaron's x-rays that he needed to use the bathroom because all of the gas and what not was built up and that was pushing on his lungs. So he still uses oxygen as needed, but we are trying to go longer and longer without it- since we could possibly be going home tomorrow.
In other news-
I got hit in the parking lot of the hospital.
I was backing out of my stall and the car on the opposite side backed right into my driver's sidedoor..HARD.
It was the worst because they hit me- turned and looked at what they did- and the junky car sped away FAST.
I went and met with the campus police- showed them where the accident was, showed them my car and they went to go find it on the security cameras, hoping to catch the license plate.
I just got a call from the police and guess what? They drove away so fast {which they did} that the 3 different cameras they saw the collision on couldn't catch the plate. So. thats it.
All in all though- Jaron is doing great.
Oh! and Tanner and Amy visited last night! I almost forgot to mention that.
