Hughes' on Holiday : Our 4th Anniversary + The San Diego Zoo

June 16th was the third day of our vacation and also the day of Our 4th Anniversary.
Remember how I said day two of our vacation started off with much less enthusiasm than day one? Well. Day three started out with absolutely NO enthusiasm. Jaron was really sick, and so was Grace. Grant was tired, and once again, my feet throbbed with pain.
It's a good thing we decided to trek the largest zoo in the world, huh? sheesh.
The Zoo was... hard. Normally, we love going to Zoos. But the Zoo just didn't really hold a candle to what we experienced the two days before... probably because we were so tired.

As soon as we got into the Zoo, we ate our PB & J sandwiches for lunch. Grant fed his to the baby ducks that were wandering around.
We decided that we would take the bus tour of the Zoo first. We thought it would be a good idea to do that since we were already exhausted.
The first five seconds of tour were great! Grant grabbed my hand and held it (which was so sweet.)  and Grace was happily eating crackers and holding on to our photo pass. (She loves plastic cards) Well. It all went downhill from there. Grant got antsy, bored and grumpy and Grace cried basically the whole time. It was a 35 minute ride too. I felt bad for all the other people on the bus.

After the bus tour, Grant had had it. He was so tired and grouchy and was throwing the biggest fit. He started to flail around and hit, and I had long since lost my patience, so we trudged back to where we parked the stroller.

We saw a gazillion animals and Grant had a blast at the petting zoo. At the end of our day at the Zoo, we sat on a bench near the iguanas and watched this kid dragging this huge, seriously.. HUGE palm branch. He was going to take it with him as a souvenir or something- it was really funny because of how loud it was as he was dragging it. But his dad told him to put it down, so he dropped it in the middle of the path. Then, a few minutes later, another random person game and started dragging it back into the opposite direction, to move it out of the path, and back into the fenced off area.

Right before we decided to leave, Jaron went and picked it up, dragged it back out, and threw it away. lol
That's how we knew we were done at the Zoo.

We went and checked into our hotel in San Diego, got cleaned up, and then Jaron took us all out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary.
He took us to The Cheesecake Factory on the harbor. It was beaaauuuuttttiiiifffffuuullll. And so was the sandwich I ordered :P We had the absolute best waiter any of us have ever had.

They gave us a cute tiny little mousse and it was the best anniversary celebration yet!
Last year, we walked around Walmart to celebrate. ;)

Jaron blew a raspberry in my face during our kiss, which was basically spitting on my face. He's such a silly head.

Our day had turned around. It ended on a wonderful note. It was a Happy Anniversary indeed. There is no one I would rather spend my life with! I am so blessed to be married to this man! He's too great. :) He is everything I need and want, and he is the only one that can make me smile like that.
